Importance of Medical SimulationModules in Medical Education and Role of Biomedical Engineering

About the Seminar:

Benefits of simulation based modules in medical education have been proved in many studies in last decade and medical professionals adopted various medical simulators in their medical trainings.  Currently medical simulators have already become a part of medical education curriculum.  Medical training modules not only consist of task specific simulators such as endoscopic, laparoscopic, robotic surgical trainings, but also include software based modules such as serious gaming, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR). Development of these medical simulation modalities and construction of technological infrastructure are novel research topic of biomedical engineers. This speech will focus on importance of medical simulators and simulation based software modules in medical education and the role of biomedical engineers in this novel topic.
