He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Baskent University with honors in 2012, and 2014, respectively. His research mainly focuses on establishing cutting-edge bioprinting science and technologies in tissue and organ biofabrication. His research interests include developing new bioprinting modalities for bottom-up tissue engineering, understanding the physics of bioprinting processes, and developing organ-on-a-chips models for drug testing and developments. His achievements in research have been recognized by fellowships and awards including Longenecker and Associates Scholarship in Engineering Science and Mechanics. Prior to Penn State, he worked in Ankara Guven Hospital as a biomedical engineer and he launched a startup company for the fabrication of point-of-care (POC) platforms when he got funding from Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology of Turkey in 2012.
